My name is Richard Paterson. I am certified in Rolfing® SI from the Rolf Institute® of Structural Integration, and am also certified in Thai Massage and Reiki Level II. I am a licensed massage therapist in PA, #MSG005541. I have more than 800 hours of formal training and over 1000 hours of bodywork with clients.
I also hold a Ph.D. in Environmental Studies from Union Institute. I have done a lot of different things. The primary was a career with Federal land-managing agencies, where my last position was Director of Grey Towers National Historic Site in Milford, PA. I have taught in elementary to graduate levels.
Through all my occupations, my pre-occupation has been running (50+ miles per week for 49 years and still going). I have personally experienced many chronic running ailments. I first became interested in Rolfing Structural Integration when it eliminated my issues and greatly improved my running performance. I am married (35 years) to Mary Mastran; we have two adult daughters. I have recently published a novel, The Year the War Came Home, available from www.Lulu.com.
